Modern Ski Chalet

This project began with the goal of elevating the potential of a ski chalet renovation—while still embracing a touch of kitsch.

Built in the 1960s by a military family who had spent years living in the Swiss Alps, this charming chalet was their attempt to recreate that Alpine spirit back home in Colorado.

Though the kitchen had been renovated in the 1990s, it felt out of place with the rest of the home. The bedrooms were dark and lacked character. Downstairs, two bedrooms awkwardly shared a hidden half-bath tucked behind the water heater. The entire home was in need of thoughtful design and inspired direction.
